據國家醫保局介紹，國家醫保藥品目錄品種范圍實現全國基本統一，目錄內西藥和中成藥由國家層面統一確定和管理，支付范圍全國統一。

China has unified the catalog of medicines covered by medical insurance across the country to ensure that all medicines in the catalog are placed under a unified management and payment policy, according to the National Healthcare Security Administration.

醫保藥品目錄是醫保基金所支付費用的藥品范圍，目錄內品種包括西藥、中成藥、中藥飲片等。現行版國家醫保藥品目錄中，共計有3088種西藥和中成藥，以及892種中藥飲片。國家醫保藥品目錄品種范圍實現全國基本統一，不僅體現了制度公平，也有利于異地就醫直接結算等工作。

國家醫保局成立后，建立了動態調整機制，每年將一些新上市的新藥、好藥增補進入目錄，已累計納入藥品744種，目錄內西藥和中成藥數量從2017年的2535種，增加至目前的3088種，保障水平顯著提升。統計顯示，目前全國公立醫院采購的藥品中，目錄內品種的采購金額占比已超過90%。
